Menorah Manor is building the new assisted living residence on a beautiful campus it purchased from the Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center, conveniently located in Clearwater.  The Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center will continue its important Jewish community programs there, which will create an active, intergenerational campus environment for our residents to enjoy.

Guided by Menorah Manor’s experience in senior care, the new assisted living residence will offer quality, comprehensive care in a welcoming Jewish environment with a commitment to independence and dignity.  The 100,000 square-foot residence will offer premium amenities: elegant dining areas and abundant recreational, wellness, intellectual and social opportunities. Apartment suites will be very comfortable and well appointed with 24-hour care available. Additional services, such as adult day programs, rehabilitation and geriatric assessment, will be available to ensure a full spectrum of care is provided to each resident, or those who live in their own homes.

The overriding concern in designing the new assisted living residence, Inn on the Pond, will be to enhance the lives and independence of its residents.  Arranged on three floors, the individual apartments will be spacious and comfortable, allowing for individual interior furniture arrangements and decoration.  Features will include unusually large closet space, large and safe bathrooms, individual heating and air conditioning units, internet access and galley kitchens.  There will be a selection of studio, one bedroom and two bedroom units with many of them overlooking the beautiful pond.   Lounges will be located throughout the building and there will be easy access to the gardens.  Careful space planning will result in easy access from the apartments to elevators, dining areas and other common areas, giving the residents freedom of the entire building and grounds.  One wing will be carefully researched and designed to accommodate residents who need a specialized memory support environment with appropriate staffing and services.

Aesthetically, Inn on the Pond will maximize appreciation of its natural setting.  Reflecting the concepts of “organic” architecture, it will harmonize with its surroundings; residents will feel part of the world beyond their home.  The design will also encourage socialization and connection with other residents and visitors who will be attracted into the community friendly common areas.  These areas will include a coffee shop and other alternative dining and refreshment venues, a generous restaurant style lakeside dining room; arts and crafts room; library, computer and media space; swimming pool; spa with beauty salon, exercise room, therapeutic whirlpool and massage room; synagogue, auditorium and activity room; outdoor shelters; gardens and a boardwalk surrounding the pond.  The site is heavily wooded with many large oaks and other trees.  The pond is bordered by a permanent nature preserve, ensuring the residents’ enjoyment of the beautiful views.

As a socially responsible community organization, Menorah Manor intends to incorporate the principles of “green” building design.  Our contractor is certified in green construction techniques and the architect will work to make Inn on the Pond an environmentally friendly project.  The building will also be community-friendly and intended to attract all ages to mingle with its residents and partake of its amenities.  It is designed specifically to translate the needs of Jewish seniors into a safe, warm, homelike and nurturing environment for active living.
